Joint Iran-Africa Agriculture and Water Resources Committee announced

During the 2nd Iran-Africa Summit in Tehran, the formation of a joint Iran-Africa Agriculture and Water Resources Committee was announced. The committee aims to explore avenues for collaboration between Iran and African nations, focusing on agriculture, water supply, and irrigation. Both public and private sector experiences in these areas were discussed by representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture.

The event saw participation from high-ranking Iranian officials, including President Ebrahim Raisi and Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Abbas Aliabadi. President Raisi highlighted the event as a step towards strengthening economic ties with African countries, criticizing the historical exploitation of African resources by Western nations. He underscored the significance of the summit as a demonstration of the mutual desire to enhance economic relationships. Iran has also declared its willingness to engage in projects related to water and soil management within African countries.
