Starting from early April 2024, SFC South American Fruit Company is setting new standards with its new ripening and logistics center at the Hamburg Wholesale Market. SFC was established in January 2024 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of African Fruit Company Ltd (AFC). The facility boasts a storage area of around 5,500 m2 and cooling capacities for 900 pallets.
The ripening facility has 22 chambers with a weekly capacity of approximately 30,000 cartons of bananas and other tropical fruits. SFC's new location is optimally situated for distribution in the north.
"We aim to offer our customers flexible, service-oriented, and straightforward solutions. Our focus includes interim storage, picking, cross-docking, and ripening services. Our 24/7 availability completes the service," Stefan Heine, SFC Managing Director explains.
Florian Eßer, also an SFC Managing Director like Heine, adds: "We are proud to be able to utilize our long-standing experience and expertise even better with the new center. This also ensures the long-term ripening and distribution of our traditional brand, Onkel Tuca, for our customers." With a current team of 15 employees, SFC aims to strengthen its competitiveness and expand through innovative approaches.
