Vegetable prices shift downward in Morocco

In Morocco, a notable shift in vegetable prices has been observed in the market, with a general decrease to the relief of consumers. Muhammad Al-Alawi, a professional in the field, has verified this trend, indicating that the cost for a variety of vegetables now falls between 3 to 5 dirhams, except for peas. He expressed contentment with the current pricing, highlighting that "The prices of vegetables, including tomatoes and potatoes, are now affordable after several months of inflation." Furthermore, Al-Alawi suggested that the recent rainfall across the nation might lead to an additional reduction in vegetable prices.

Here is a brief overview of the current vegetable prices in Morocco: Potatoes and onions are priced between 3 to 6 dirhams per kilo, tomatoes and carrots at approximately 5 to 6 dirhams per kilo, while eggplant, cucumber, and green squash range from 6 to 9 dirhams per kilo. Peas stand as an exception, with their price ranging from 8 to 12 dirhams per kilo. This decrease in prices follows a period of inflation and may be attributed to recent climatic conditions and economic factors, offering consumers more accessible options for purchasing vegetables.
