In Bulgaria, the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) reported a decrease in the market price index (MPI) by 0.81 percent to 2,217 points, indicating a drop in wholesale food prices. Notably, imported cucumbers and greenhouse cucumbers saw a reduction in prices by 5.6 percent and 6.7 percent respectively, while imported tomatoes decreased by 6.5 percent.
Conversely, potatoes and carrots experienced a price increase of 3.5 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively. The prices for ripe onions remained stable, whereas ripe garlic and cabbage prices declined by 3.5 percent and 5.5 percent respectively. The cost of imported apples fell by 8.5 percent, with similar downward trends observed in the prices of lemons, bananas, oranges, and imported strawberries.
