The first Fruit Attraction São Paulo held in Brazil, that ended yesterday, is being hailed as a success by participants who say they managed to "meet different people, activated new partnerships, reactivated potential customers and enhanced important partnerships, in addition to seeing friends in the industry."

The show not only attracted the vast fresh produce industry from Brazil, with visitors coming from the rest of South America, Europe, the Middle East and other parts of the world. The show was held at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 April, 2024.
Sérgio Negrão, CEO and one of the founders of Brazilian limes exporter Jagrao : "The fair, despite being small, is very busy, I think for a first edition it is a success."
A mango producer and exporter noted, "Overall it's exceeding expectations. Importers liked the fair despite it being the first time in Brazil, it will certainly gain more strength, and as far as exporters are concerned, we are free because we have a lot of products and as much fun as possible so that the world can come visit us and taste the flavours of tropical products and evaluate our services."
IFEMA Madrid organized the exhibition with the support of the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivatives Exporters (Abrafrutas). In his opening speech the president of Abrafrutas, Guilherme Coelho, highlighted the diversity of fruit produced and exported from Brazil. "It is inspiring to see the emphasis given to the Brazilian fruit sector and the recognition of its importance both locally and internationally. We are excited to be able to connect with our partners, negotiate, exchange knowledge and contribute to the growth and development of agribusiness in our country. Let's make the most of this unique experience and build new partnerships to further boost the success of the fruit sector in Brazil!."
Ing. Mercedes Auris, owner of Los Viñedos Nursery in Peru also attended the show in Brazil. "We are delighted to participate in this great fair, where we come to look for new and better opportunities for our Peruvian agriculture. Thank you to the entire organization for the invitation!"
Cassiano Berol, from the Brazilian exporter Agricola Plantar, says they saw Brazilian producers from different states of Brazil, including, Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte, São Paulo, Pará, Espirito Santo, etc. "Brazil has a massive list of regions where we can produce, limes, mangoes, ginger, sweet potato, figs, Atemoyas, tropical avocado, guavas, papayas, etc. we've seen very professional producers, experienced importers from Europe, USA, Middle East, etc. We met several potential producers and also customers looking for these products that Brazil offers. Our challenge is to connect good and reliable producers to good importers, in this way, business hardly fails. We expect to start loading limes and ginger apart from sweet potato, in 2024."
"In comparison to Berlin Fruit Logistica and Madrid Fruit Attraction, of course it was smaller, but I thought that it was a very good start for the first edition for sure. It was very useful for us and certainly we'll be present next year!" concludes Berol.
